Photovoltaic Noise Barrier Project on Elevated Bridges in China

The project, located in Wuhan, Hubei, is China’s first fully enclosed photovoltaic noise barrier on an elevated bridge.

The issue of tempered glass spontaneous breakage is particularly pronounced in noise barrier applications due to vibrations caused by passing vehicles. Additionally, the heavy weight and challenging installation of traditional glass photovoltaic modules make them unsuitable for such projects.

Polyshine Solars lightweight and flexible photovoltaic modules, encapsulated with high-polymer materials, are 70% lighter than traditional glass modules. They offer excellent vibration resistance, eliminating the risk of spontaneous breakage. The lighter weight also simplifies installation and maintenance, making the “photovoltaic + noise barrier” model a practical reality.
